Q: What time does a certain performer fly?
A: Due to the possibility of weather or mechanical delays, the Terre Haute Air Fair does not typically publish the times of any particular performer. It is not uncommon for an air show to plan a certain schedule and then deviate from that schedule to accommodate a number of potential circumstances. However, this year due to the incredible magnitude of all that is going on both in the air and on the ground, we plan to publish a rough schedule of events to assist in your planning of a great day. Just be advised, parts of the schedule will probably change throughout the day. Check our Dates and Times page as we get closer to the show for detailed information.
Q: Will I be able to bring a cooler or backpack?A: Unfortunately, due to security concerns, no coolers, tote bags, backpacks, or other containers will be allowed on site. Purses, camera cases, diaper bags, etc. may be subject to search.
Q: Will there be seats or bleachers available?
A: There is a limited amount of Upgrade Seating available for an additional fee. The majority of our spectators enjoy the show from the grass. Please feel free to bring a blanket or folding chairs. Once again, these items may be subject to search. Additionally, this year with so much to see both in the air and on the ground, you may find yourself in an amusement park setting and travel from location to location throughout the day.
Q. What is the Upgrade Seating Area?
A: The Upgrade Seating Area is available for general admission ticket holders to "upgrade" their ticket for a bracelet allowing access to an area near show center ("the 50 yard line") providing a limited number of chairs and shade. Upgrade tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis to the first 500 spectators per day. You can purchase your upgrade ticket at the Upgrade Seating Area. Adults are an additional $10 a day. Children are an additional $5 a day.
Q. Will Upgrade Seating be available again this year?
A: Yes! See above question for specifics.
Q: Will there be seating and accommodations for people with special needs?
A: Yes. The Universal Access Area will be staffed and operated by the our friendly volunteers. Plan to arrive early for the best parking at the airport in the Handicapped Parking Section. Look for the VIP entrance at the Airport Parking Lot - that is where you will enter the air show. A transportation van is available to shuttle anyone over to the Universal Access Tent. Once the airport parking lot is full, or if you arrive late and are parked in Lots 1 or 2, you should request Handicapped Parking if it is available. You will need to transport yourself to the admissions section of the parking lot, where you can wait for the school buses, or wait for the Westminster Village Transportation Van. The Transportation Van is wheelchair accessible. The Universal Access Tent is located on the east side of the show line. You can also contact Daniel Tryon at his e-mail address dtryon.dmt@verizon.net for additional details.
Q: Which day will have the best performances?
A: Weather permitting, Saturday and Sunday will feature identical performances up through 6:00 p.m. Saturday night however, we're going all out with fireworks, pyrobatics, and a very special concert by country music stars, Joe Diffie and Aaron Tippin.
Q: Can I bring my dog to the Air Fair?
A: Unfortunately no, with the exception of trained guide dogs, we cannot allow pets at the Air Fair. This is primarily for their safety, and the safety of our other guests.
Q: How much is parking?
A: Parking for all events is FREE!
Q: Where can I get a hotel room for this event?
A: Contact the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, or visit their website at www.terrehaute.com .
Q: Can I fly into the event? If so, what are the times?
A: We encourage fly-in aircraft. Be sure to check all NOTAM's prior to flying in. A TFR will also be in place. Be sure to inquire about the TFR during your briefing. Runway 5 or 23 will be in use. Parking will be on Runway 36 just north of the Charlie Taxiway. Please bring your own chocks. The Terre Haute Air Center will park you, take any fuel or other servicing requests, and take your admission fee into the airshow. There are no additional fees for parking. Prior to leaving, consult with an Air Show Flight Line Operations Volunteer on start-up and departure procedures and be sure to contact Ground Control prior to movement.
Q: Is the Joe Diffie/Aaron Tippin concert price included in a general admission ticket?
A: Yes it is!
